What’s not to love about Easter? So many memories, so many traditions. It’s a time of celebration. Bunnies. Chocolate. Chocolate bunnies. We love it all.
In fact, here we are celebrating Easter last year. Just kidding. That was two years go.
In all seriousness, although this is not a picture of us, we love what we see. We respect these women coming together, donning their bonnets, and dipping every egg in the village. What’s really important here is not the intricate egg design. Or those aprons. It’s the tradition of celebrating the best way we way we all should: With new outfits.
It’s a tale as old as time. The bunny and the food. The ham and the eggs. And that new dress for Easter.
Preparing for Easter has always been an opportunity to go shopping. Although we think every day falls into this category, we know the Easter outfit holds a promise of warm weather, bright sunshine, and even eternal salvation. Easter styles simply have style! These ladies knew it. They look like Easter eggs themselves!
We say, keep the style alive. And, of course, at Nixon & Co, we have the Easter outfits to celebrate!
Check out this white and coral plaid tank dress. Flowing, flattering, and fun. It’s the perfect frock for church, brunch, or even an afternoon of mimosas. We don’t judge!
Another classic look at Nixon & Co: The grey tie sash dress. It’s unique and modern, but with the classic stitching and bows of Easters past. It’s a look so hot, you’ll have to fight off the Easter bunny. Or not. Again: No judgment.
Perhaps you’re loving these looks, but you’re looking outside and saying. “These are great, Nixon & Co, but check it out! There’s still snow on the ground!” We get it! Never fear ladies, we’ve got you covered!
Look at these amazing cardigans. This one is called “Pale Olive.” Blow me down! (That’s a reach to Olive Oil and then a reference to Popeye. Ahoy, millennials. Look it up!)
Back to the topic of covering up, check out our light violet cardigan. Beautiful!
These sexy sweaters can be thrown over Easter frocks, or dressed down with jeans. They’re light, they’re easy. We love them!
Ladies, yes. You all have your Easter traditions and your Easter memories. Plus new traditions and new memories you create every year. And at the core of each of them: New clothes. Come in today! Shop!

Spring is here. Officially. And we couldn’t be more excited. Well, we could. But that’s another blog, on another topic. We’ll keep it clean here, ladies, with these key pointers to bring in the season right.
Revisit.
First things first. Spring cleaning is not just a catchy term. It’s a rebirth. Spring is the ideal time to get out with the old, and purge your wintery, tired ways. We challenge you to not only deep clean, but also stop the madness.
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve probably heard of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: the Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing. This book describes the Konmari Method, which involves thanking your belongings for their service, and then letting them go if they no longer spark joy. What does that mean? It means to touch everything you own, mindfully. If it doesn’t bring you joy, toss it.
We love this approach! For drawers! For closets! For homes! Er, for children! For spouses! Take this philosophy as far you want and embrace your new tidy life.
Restock.
Now that you’ve thrown out everything that doesn’t bring you joy, celebrate spring by bringing new joy in. It’s time to shop, girlfriends!
Look what we have in stock!
- 2018’s answer to the one piece. This look is hot! We bet you haven’t looked this adorable in a onesie since you were, well, one.
- Rockin’ lobes. Spring spirit is light, and so are these beauties! Clear your calendar – you’ll need time to field the compliments.
- And hello Lido Deck! This is no Love Boat romper. We love this gorgeous halter one-piece in store now.
Check out more summer fashion trends of 2018 here.
Refresh.
Another thing to do this spring? Look in the mirror. How long has it been since you’ve had a quality cut or color. Are ends split? Has color faded?
Sometimes you may be too close to the situation to know that “there’s a situation.” Things can start to look “normal.” Perceptions can be hindered by fatigue and frenzy. Things could be bad. Real bad. Come in and we’ll give you an honest answer. And honest advice. Year-round. Trust us.
Rethink.
Finally, with all the new thinking and energy of spring, it is important to not lose perspective. Change is good, but only good change.
For example, don’t leave this page thinking that this look is trending.
By this photo, we mean, no. And no, and no. You had us at the Sandra Bullock hair. And then it all went south. And chilly. Ladies, it’s only March. Brrr.
And goodness. Spring is a time for a new, sexy jacket. But not full metal jacket.
Just stop. And while you’re at it, with warm weather approaching, check the shorts. No one wants to see your panties. Or your panty liners.
One more thing, when you shop for knits, remember we mean knits – jersey tops, seasonal sweaters, easy add-ons. We don’t mean grandma’s latest project.
Needles generally don’t bring anything good, and knitting needles don’t either. Unless it’s a blanket for a precious newborn, hold back on the yarn. We’re itching just writing this.
Ladies, friends, yes, it’s spring. Please do revisit, restock, refresh, and rethink. There are so many good decisions to make, and so many bad ones to avoid.
We can help you through these exciting times. Come in. Let’s talk.

It’s here: The pinching, the green beer, the excitement of all the Irish people you never knew were Irish. It’s St. Patrick’s Day, one of the first signs of spring and another excuse to drink, er, celebrate. You know us. We’re all for it. We’ve even thought of four ways to mark the occasion.
Think outside your “box”
Nothing spreads the St. Patrick’s Day spirit more than having some fun down below. This year, think 50 shades of GREEN and all the ways to get tied up! We’re talking holes, loops, oversized, and sexy!
We’re talking BELTS, ladies! GREEN BELTS! What is wrong with you?
Nixon & Co has the latest styles that will add that special touch to any look. Don’t have the right outfit? We have that too. These belts are all the rage and the perfect accessory. But we won’t lie: The belts may be green, but they’ll work in any “Red Room.”
Look at this beauty!
Make them green with envy
Of course, it is St. Patrick’s Day, so you will have to wear green. Not only to stop hearing “Where’s your green?” all day, but also because it’s awesome. Green is in, and there are so many shades to choose from: Mint, lime, olive, pickle. Funny that these are also items found in Bloody Mary’s. Just saying.
But the point is, break out your green, and make others green with envy. And if you have green eyes, lucky you. Wearing green will bring out the color. Purple or red wine will accent your assets as well. Did someone say wine?
Have a sexy Saints
The warmer weather, the lighter spirits, all that celebrating — St. Patrick’s Day is a day to feel our best and put some spring in our routines. Before the big day, refresh at Nixon & Co in store or online with a sexy bralette:
And ladies, on St. Patrick’s Day, you can leave your hat on! You’ll want to when it’s this Adorable C.C. Beanie. And it’s green!
Save with Shamrocks
Finally, the best way to celebrate the Irish in us all is to not just wear green, but SAVE green! Shop in store and online and look for the Lucky Shamrocks hidden there by lucky leprechauns themselves. Okay, by us. But you get the picture. If you spot a four-leaf clover on one of the many selected items, you’ll get extra savings. Now that’s worth drinking to!
This St. Patrick’s Day, may the luck of the Irish be with you. Or at least a hot Irish man. Either way, remember these four tips to make it the best St. Patty’s ever. Cheers, sisters!

March 8 is International Women’s Day when the world celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s a day to promote women’s rights and gender equality. It’s a day to stand together to make a positive difference for women.
Wow, that’s good stuff. It’s so good, we think every day should be International Women’s Day.
As women business owners, community members, moms, wives, sisters, aunts, and daughters, we lend our own voice to this event. No joking around this week. We want to share what we feel we can all do on this day – and every day – to make life better for our sisters everywhere.
Be aware
First, let’s be informed. International Women’s Day is not a “Hallmark Holiday.” It dates back to the early 1900s when women came together women to fight for the right to vote and oppose employment sex discrimination. The theme of a women’s day continued in various forms through the years, until it became an official United Nations event in 1975.
The point is this: Long before our pink vagina hats, women have been uniting, joining forces and building strength. We are where we are today because of the generations of women before us. Celebrate them! Celebrate us.
Bring it home
Another thing we can do is to honor this broad international event right here where we live. We can take a moment to think about all the amazing women in our lives – friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors, the kids’ teachers, and more. Let’s reflect on all they do, as people and as women. So often women bring each other down. But what can we do instead to empower each other and lift each other up? We’re women. Let’s be better!
Make good choices
Finally, in celebration of International Women’s Day and year-round, we can use the power of our purchasing. Every time we open our purses (like these awesome ones featured here), we can choose to spend our hard-earned and smaller-than-most-men’s paychecks on products from companies that honor and empower women.
For example, at Nixon & Co, we sell jewelry from Beljoy, whose design and production processes help create jobs for women in Haiti.
We feature the fantastic wares of Able, a company that manufactures directly in poor communities to help break the cycle of poverty.
Nixon & Co carries clothing from Half United, which fights hunger by providing seven meals to children in need with every item sold.
And we also sell Bitchstix face and body care products, which allows us as the retailer to donate a portion of their proceeds to support a domestic violence or sexual assault prevention program right here in our Castle Rock community.
Ladies, please join us in recognizing and celebrating International Women’ Day. Let March 8 and every day be our day. Know what’s going on in this world. Support our sisters. Choose wisely. Let’s be better, together.

It’s something we never grow tired of: Noticing problems and sharing our opinions about them. It’s good we’re up to the challenge because when it comes to bags, butts, and bad hair, we’ve been given a lot of material. So, right now, it’s time to stop the craziness and tell you all our feels.
First, ladies, what are you carrying?
Stop, look down, and take a hard close look at your essential carry-on. Is it dated? Is it worn out? Or did you borrow it from your grandma?
And God forbid, does it look like this?
The expression is “Let the cat out of the bag.” Not “Turn your cat into a bag.” This is wrong on so many levels, we’re scratching our scratching posts.
The point is this: If you haven’t updated your tote in the last year, it’s time to un-clench your clutch. Check out the accessories at Nixon & Company’s online boutique.
We love this Alem Cognac Weekender.
And this Mamuye Leather Tote.
Remember: Your bag says a lot about you, and it shouldn’t say “There’s a sippy cup in here.” If your six-year-old would carry it, put it back. If grandma thinks it would look great hanging from her walker, put it back. You get the message.
One more thing on purses: Don’t be afraid to go big. Not only can you load it up with more shit (adult sippy cups), we always say this: The larger the purse, the tinier the appearance of your behind. Why, yes mam, that bag does make your butt look small.
Speaking of behinds…
Always check your view from the rear.
Get a full length mirror and check it early and often. Too many times, we’re rushing out the door and focusing on the day ahead that we forget about the things behind.
Be sure to look at the back of your hair, your butt, your shorts, and your pants. Yes, do wear white, but keep it loose and keep it classy. This washed-out wedgey has to hurt. But it hurts us more.
Next, ladies: Don’t sweat it.
Seriously, we mean: Don’t sweat in it. The problem comes when you’re wearing grey, which is quick to show every ounce of perspiration. If it’s tight, and you think you’re going to sweat, remember these are 50 shades no one wants to see.
The problem of wearing grey gets worse when you’re heating up in the no-no region. This problem is beyond camel-toe. This is: “Camel’s been at the river drinking.” Ladies, loosen up and lighten up, and don’t let this be you.
Finally: Stop the cray-cray of not cutting.
We get it: You love the glamour. You want the locks. But hair takes a beating with bleaching, shampooing, and flat ironing. It can grow unevenly, and ends eventually split.
And despite our love our good products, no product on earth is going to fix your hair if it’s gotten to this point:
And this would make even a cat handbag choke.
If this is you, make an appointment today. We can fix this. And we won’t even insult you.
In conclusion, we are hopeful that by shedding light on these bad bags, rear views, and hair cut avoidance, we can right some of the problems of this world. But there are so many, and we’re just getting warmed up. Come in to see us. We’ll talk.

You know what we say. What happens in Vegas… comes back to be shared with you all. That’s because we went to “Market” in Sin City, where we learned about all the latest looks that will soon be sweeping Colorado. We brought back gorgeous wares, and the real story of the summer fashions of 2018. Let’s jump right in.
You thought we were kidding.
No, we really mean: Jump right in. Because what’s in is jumpers.
It’s a look stolen from simpler times. When clothes were classy. When communication was face to face. When all our girlfriends wore the same outfit:
Check out the rompin’ fun to be had in this hot romper. Our 50s sisters knew how to enter a room. Or a playground.
Those bare shoulders. Those checks. We love the look. But if this is too vintage for you, fast forward a few decades, when jumpers returned to dominate:
Holy one-piece, Batman! That hair. Those belts. Those pleats. This was a look that deserves an encore. (By the way, since it’s the 1980s again, by Batman we mean Michael Keaton.)
But we digress. Back to the jumpers of the good old days:
So fun. So easy. And so terrycloth, the forgotten feel-good fabric. This may even still be in your closet.
If you’ve lost your beach playsuit, never fear.
Nixon and Co has the 2018 romper. This is one piece that’s a one-piece you’re going to absolutely have to have. Today’s look is based on the looser styles of the 80s, but it’s lighter and sleeker. Less cinching and more flattering. Come in and try it on!
One more thing: Stripes are ripe!
Another trend for summer is the return of stripes. Look at these hotties taking in the sun. They knew then what we know now: It’s not summer without these strappy blues and whites. These ladies also knew style, which is why their gentlemen came a’ courting. And didn’t hook up with them on Tinder.
We’re proud to feature the stripes of today. Classic. Timeless. Hell, even vertical. They’re coming soon to Nixon & Co!
So: Key takeaways for your summer fashions of 2018
Jumpers are in. Stripes are in. Look at these ladies of yesterday who combined them both. Grab a shoulder and dip your toe in to test these waters. See how great they’ll look on you!
Nixon & Co has the summer fashions of 2018 plus amazing looks you’ll love year-round. Come in to check out the styles and hear about our adventures in Vegas. We’ll tell all. Or will we?
